SHEET
An
ecomonical ready-to-use polyester laminated plywood
panel for decorative interior marine applications.
Recommended for all vertical and light duty horizontal
surfaces, except working galley countertops. Marine
DecraGuard can be used for bulkheads, chart tables,
consoles, berths, cabinetry and
furniture.
Wearability Marine
DecraGuard surfaces are highly resistant to scuffing and
abrasion and resist wear better than most printed
hardboard or prefinished wood panels. In
laboratory-conducted standard NEMA tests, DecraGuard met
or exceeded the stringent new requirements of
LD3-1985.
Stain Resistance In NEMA
standard laboratory tests, Marine DecraGuard proved more
stain resistant than vinyls, melamine and some
high-pressure laminates. It also resists most common
food products.
Cleanability NEMA test
LD3-3.12 resulted in no effects on the surface
appearance of Marine DecraGuard. However, as with any
quality decorative surface, harsh acids, alkalis or
abrasive materials may change the gloss level and should
be avoided.
Heat Resistance The NEMA Boiling Water Test
had no effect on DecraGuard's surface. Burning
cigarettes, left on the surface for two minutes, left no
traces after tars and smoke stains were washed
off.
Machineability Use carbide tipped
saws and woodworking tools to produce intricate machine
work or straight line cuts which are quick and smooth.
Marine DecraGuard's permanently bonded surface resists
edge breaking or cracking.
Reduce Fabricating
Costs Marine DecraGuard is a prefinished,
ready-to-use panel. It eliminates secondary in plant
operations like sanding, laminating, painting, staining,
sealing and buffing. This cuts labor costs and increases
productivity of cabinet making and finishing
crews.
Performance marine DecraGuard's
laminated surface is permanently fused to a marine glued
hardwood faced plywood with Douglas fir inner plies,
making it one of the toughest ready-to-use panels on the
market. Douglas fir provides superior structural
strength and excellent screw withdrawal resistance.
Tested under severe laboratory conditions, the extra
tough resin surface provides exceptional strength and
durability even when subjected to saltwater, gasoline,
cigarette burns and most common staining agents.
Appearance Marine DecraGuard woodgrain is
one of the most attractive and realistic cabinet faces
available to marine manufacturers. The beautiful
prefinished surface looks like hand rubbed wood --
except that it is much tougher, enabling it to maintain
its good looks longer. A full range of attractive
decorator solid colors are also available to provide
contrasting matches to any interior decor
scheme.
Maintenance Marine DecraGuard
is relatively maintenance free. It wipes clean easily
with a damp cloth or use a mild detergent for hard to
remove soiled areas. No need for sanding or oiling to
maintain the appearance of the woodgrain
patterns.
Color Fastness Polyester
DecraGuard resists fading and color change, showing no
effect under exposure to ultra-violet as provided under
NEMA test LD3-3.10.

testing, see the NEMA TEST RESULTS
