PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Primer is Thermoset Acrylic designed specifically for plywood MDO. It is designed as a first coat to give good adhesion to the MDO, and provide a good base for subsequent overcoats.
Film Thickness: 0.9 - 1.25 mils dry
Color: Light gray
Recommended Overcoating: Use a high quality industrial enamel system. Three general categories are listed below:

Water Based Enamel System: Use a high quality ALL ACRYLIC semi-gloss or gloss enamel system.
Solvent Based Alkyd System: Use a high quality industrial semi-gloss or gloss enamel system.
Solvent Based Automotive: Generally all automotive air dry re-finish enamels should work well.

When overcoating, always follow overcoat manufacturer's recommendations. Always use good painting practices i.e. proper ambient temperature, product clean and free from dirt, adequate dry time for overcoat before further use, etc.

Do Not Use any paint intended for interior use only. Do not use water base vinyl or vinyl-acrylics, solvent based alkyd flat or alkyd solid color stains.

The above general categories of coatings usually will not perform as well as the products we have recommended. This is not an indictment against these products, but just our experience as a general category. Selected products from certain manufacturers in these categories may perform satisfactorily. Ask your local paint suppliers.

The recommended categories are not manufacturer or product specific. The ultimate choice of overcoat products and their performance is the responsibility of the end user, finisher, and their overcoat paint supplier.
