The North American Wholesale Lumber Association (NAWLA) is one of the oldest and largest organizations in the forest products industry. NAWLA members are deeply committed to enhancing professionalism within their industry sphere and the efficient distribution of the products they sell. NAWLA members support those suppliers who use sustainable forest management practices, which integrate the world’s social, economic and environmental needs.
The Lake States Lumber Association’s primary objective is to assure members and industry of a sustainable forest resource. This objective is achieved by a network of committees and volunteers.
The Sustainable Forestry Initiative Program promotes the practice of sustainable forestry on all lands, regardless of size or ownership, and recognizes the importance of landowner outreach and landowner education in achieving a broad commitment to wise forest use.
The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is an independent, not for profit, non-government organisation based in Bonn, Germany, that provides standard setting, trademark assurance and accreditation services for companies and organisations interested in responsible forestry.
The Temperate Forest Foundation is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, non-profit, public charity. The Foundation provides leadership by articulating the current realities, and a positive inspiring vision of the future. Through public education the Foundation helps people move toward the positive vision of living sustainably, with the successful integration of economic, ecological, and social needs. We must take from life to live, but we must also put something back. Forest, trees and wood will continue to play a vital role in supporting human populations and quality of life on this planet. The responsible consumption and production of natural resources go hand-in-hand; this is the Circle of Life.
The Ontario Lumber Manufacturers’ Association (OLMA) is an industrial trade association representing the interests of the province’s independently-operated, non-integrated sawmills in quality of production, public forest policy and in international trade.
